ten years ago we began with a party: friends performed incredibly loud music as the grid said hello to the world. ten years later and here we are, incredibly grateful for your support and encouragement. it's enabled us to focus full time on making new instruments as we sharpen our eccentricities in a rural landscape. and most importantly, you have given us cause to share in the mystical connection that is this music between us.

next — nearing completion is a redesigned arc, perfectly matching the newest grid, as well as a module for arc integration into the wires and knobs world. collaboration with mannequins continues with the release of the full isms system. there is also a new thing, a very different thing that i'm dying to talk about, but it's a secret thing. for now. who says stuff like that?

people — central to monome's evolution is an incredibly engaged community where the level of sharing, collaboration, and generosity have remained a constant source of inspiration. this energy is being captured in an exceptional new podcast, sound and process. following what has become a long tradition, the lines community remix project has an excellent new compilation on its way to vinyl. and after a decade's worth of open-source permutations of mlr (the quintessential grid-based sample cutting platform) we now have el quinto's re:mix, a well-executed evolution for max for live.

gathering — may 21. music in the woods, creekside, and amidst what promises to be a startlingly large bonfire. we'll be broadcasting live and invite you to join us in celebration.

thanks — since its inception monome has remained a tiny operation. most days now it's just me in the workshop, in the barn, on the farm, out in the woods. but none of this would have been possible without the help and advice and encouragement and influence of a great number of people over the years. thank you kelli cain, trent gill, peter segerstrom, ezra buchla, jason voytilla, matthew davidson, darwin grosse, jay gilligan, michael felix, alvin aronson, alfred darlington, will light, mark allen, todd reynolds, tom erbe, miller puckette, peter otto, sara roberts, sean hellfritsch, nick rothwell, john reed, naut humon, david zicarelli, michael frechette, marcus fischer, michael o'malley, jason kramer, joe lake, soren andreasen, sohrob nikzad, rodrigo constanzo, vlad spears, tom dinchak, sam doshi, raymond weitekamp, raja das, frank rose, david primus luta, peter kirn, chris gilroy, jenny weger, my parents and brothers, and trees and rocks and birds everywhere.
